Located in beautiful South Central WI .  J & J Paints and Quarter Horses is surrounded by beautiful rolling hills, green fields, many acres of crop land and pastures with beautiful horses.  We specialize in selling APHA and AQHA horses of all ages, sizes, and colors.  We take pride in training our horses for that modern day look with good bone and feet, quiet dispositions, athletic ability and beautiful color.  Quality and conformation is our main priority and the color is an added bonus.

Through the years we have carefully selected our broodmares with quality, class, style and gentle dispositions to cross on our beautiful stallions to produce “show quality” foals that we need in today’s horse market.  We specialize in black and white homozygous tobiano paints and AQHA black, grullo, buckskin, cremello and blue roan horses.  We are primarily a breeding farm but focus on selling family and 4-h trail and show horses. We enjoy our horses and the rewards of knowing they have good homes and people are enjoying them.

Every year starting in May we begin our lesson and training programs.  We do riding and trail lessons Monday through Saturday.  We have lesson horses available for just about any level rider or you can bring your own horse. This year we will be providing lessons for western pleasure, trail safety and just basic western riding.  If interested in English we do have an instructor that is may be available.

Our new 2008 foals are starting to arrive soon.  Currently we have 2 foals born in 2008.   On March 10, 2008 our mare Poco delivered a beautiful black filly sired by our big 16hd black AQHA stallion “JRS Ebony Socks”.  This filly is outstanding and will be offered for sale.  She is jet black with a white star on her head.  On March 16, 2008 our pretty APHA dun homzoygous mare “Dunny” foaled a big long legged APHA dun homozygous tobiano stud colt sired by our APHA black tobiano stallion “Royal Dreamwalker”  Moe as we call him is a big pretty stallion that is double homozygous.  He’s a 100% color producer and will never have a solid foal and never a sorrel or chestnut color.  Foals by our new stallion “Zip By Chance” will be here and we are excited to see his first foal crop here at J & J. 

We should have approximately 30 foals born in 2008.  Please be sure to watch our website daily.  We will try to post the new arrivals as they are born.  All foals should be born by July.  If you don’t see what you want please email us as we may not have all our foals and horses for sale listed.  Each year we usually have just about every color possible.  We do offer multiple mare discounts when breeding to one of our stallions and also discount for purchasing multiple foals and horses.  Keep checking back for updates and if you are in the area please don’t hesitate to stop in for a tour and a cup of coffee.

Spring is here and the breeding season here at J & J Paints and Quarter Horses has begun.  Our 2008 foals have started to arrive and what a wonderful group of foals we already have on the ground.  Everyone is getting excited to breed back their mares.  It’s very important to have your mares wormed and vaccinated before hauling them to get bred.  Making sure your mares are in good shape and healthy is important for them to get in foal the first breeding.  A mineral is also recommended and helps the mares shed out that winter coat they’ve been carrying around all winter.  Even if you have your mares are outside all winter and cannot bring them in for daily mineral there is other options.  A “free choice” mineral is great to have available for them all year around and that seems to be the best choice for people who have more than a couple horses and keep “rough boarded” throughout the year.
